Our opportunity As Senior Financial Accountant, you will focus on delivering the consolidated monthly Group results, the interim and annual financial reports, and high quality ARCC and Board reporting.
Additionally, you will support the Group finance team to ensure Mirvac's finance policies, processes, and systems are maintained at the highest level of integrity.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Month End Close – Manage the delivery of high quality, accurate and timely monthly reporting for the consolidated Group, including assistance with the preparation of the Group consolidation, taxation, cashflows and elimination entries, as well as review of segment/division results, providing useful insight and analysis to the business and finance teams.Financial Reporting – Managing the preparation and review of statutory interim and annual reporting, including ASX requirements for the Group (and subsidiaries) and associated reporting and analysis for investor relations (Black book, investor presentation material, Q&A analysis).Liaison with external auditors – Develop key working relationships to ensure efficient and timely audits.Preparation of ARCC and Board Finance Papers – Manage the drafting of ARCC and Board papers, supporting packs and presentations to a high quality, demonstrating superior writing skills.Ad hoc analysis and calculations - Provide ad hoc analysis to meet the needs of the business and external reporting requirements as well as acting as a SME for accounting related queries, ensuring accurate recognition of financial results in accordance with relevant accounting standards.Accounting standards - Remain up-to-date with new or updates to accounting standards.
Assist with the review and assessment of these changes and, where applicable, facilitate with the associated implementation process.System maintenance and internal compliance – Partnering with the divisions and Digital to ensure that system updates including new accounts creation and mapping approvals are completed.
Assist with testing system updates before changes are live in the production system.Regular review of internal policies – Ensuring compliance with current and new Accounting Standards and consistency with internal processes and procedures.Partner with and develop an understanding of other Group finance functions – Participate in cross training and work with agility to support the Centre of Excellence to operate at peak efficiency.Continuous improvement – Identify improvement opportunities, make recommendations, and assist in driving implementation of changes in processes, systems, and reporting including group wide projects such as ERP implementation.Your point of difference The ideal applicant will be CA/CPA certified with a background in either Chartered Accountancy or the Commercial sector.
High attention to detail is essential, coupled with the proficiency to navigate numerous systems adeptly (Yardi advantageous).
You have advanced Excel skills as well as comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in Australian accounting standards, IFRS, and statutory obligations.
You are driven and capable of autonomously managing a variety of priorities and projects in a timely manner.
You are highly analytical, with the ability to partner with a variety of stakeholders.
