The Bend Motorsport Park is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join our team and play a key role in driving the financial success of our world-class facility.

About the Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Senior Financial Accountant to join our team at The Bend Motorsport Park.
Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring timely, accurate, and complete financial accounts for our motorsport business.
This role will see you heavily involved in all aspects of financial accounting, including month-end close processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
As a key member of our finance team, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to both financial operations and strategic decision-making.
This is a full-time role based at our state-of-the-art facility in Tailem Bend.

Mallala Motorsport Park, established in 1961 to host the Australian Grand Prix, is the historical heart of motorsport in South Australia.
Over the decades, Mallala has proudly hosted prestigious events like the Australian Touring Car Championship, Australian Sports Car Championship, Shannons Nationals, and Formula 2 racing.
Today, our 2.6km circuit is a vibrant hub for driver training, car and motorcycle practice, drifting, and the annual All Historic Mallala race meeting.

Recently, we expanded our offerings with the introduction of go-karting in June 2022, bringing new energy and excitement to our storied venue.
As part of the same family that owns and operates the renowned Shell V-Power Motorsport Park, we are deeply committed to preserving our rich motorsport heritage while continuing to innovate and offer thrilling experiences for all.

What will you be responsible for?

Preparation of monthly financial statements and board reporting.
Managing income tax preparation and resolving audit queries.
Conducting forecasting and budgeting exercises.
Reconciling subledgers to the general ledger and performing complex end-of-month reconciliations.
Uploading various journal entries into the accounting system.
Managing monthly accruals, prepayments journals, and revenue recognition.
Preparing BAS and activity statements.
Assisting the Finance Manager with the integration and automation of operating and booking systems into the general ledger (Dynamics 365 BC).
Identifying and implementing new initiatives to improve financial processes and benefit the organisation.
About You:
You are a high-performing professional who is driven, detail-oriented, and passionate about financial accounting, with a strong track record of solving complex challenges.
You thrive in fast-paced settings, demonstrating confidence and adaptability whether working independently or as part of a team to deliver exceptional results.

Key Skills and Experience:
Fully qualified accountant (CPA or CA preferred).
A minimum of 5 years of financial accounting experience, with a focus on month-end closing and balance sheet reconciliations.
Strong ability to work across multiple accounting systems; experience with ERP systems, particularly D365, is highly desirable.
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and investigative skills.
Experience in the motorsport, recreational, or hotel sectors is an advantage but not essential.
