Our dedication to safety and reputation for quality and innovation help our customers reach beyond what they thought possible.All you have to do is get on board.Role SummaryWe have an opportunity for a dynamic Senior Financial Accountant to join our team in West Perth, WA.The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for managing the month-end closing process, general ledger reconciliations, and the preparation of financial reports in compliance with AASB/IFRS and GAAP standards.
This role also includes overseeing audits, tax reporting, and sustainability disclosures.
You will provide expert guidance to the finance team, drive improvements in financial policies, and collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate and efficient financial operations.
Additionally, the position involves supervising accounting staff and leading complex financial analysis and modelling initiatives.As Senior Financial Accountant your duties and responsibilities will include:Ensure all financial reporting are in line with accounting standards under AASB/IFRS and taxation regulations.Manage the full month-end financial reporting, prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.Closure of AR, AP, Inventory and GL at month end.Lead the audit process by liaising with external auditors, providing necessary documentation, and ensuring that audit queries are addressed promptly.Take charge of month-end and year-end balance sheet reconciliation process, including management of workbooks for auditing purposesManage the preparation and reporting of energy-related, climate and sustainability (ESG) disclosures, including monitoring and reporting energy consumption, carbon emissions, and other sustainability metrics in compliance with relevant local and international reporting standardsComplete and submit ABS (Australian Bureau of Statistics) surveys accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with national reporting requirements.Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) on a timely basis, ensuring that GST, PAYG, and other relevant tax obligations are correctly calculated and reported.Assist with asset management including maintaining detailed and accurate tangible, ROU assets registers and inventory records.Assist with preparation of Executive Management end of month results presentation.Provide transactional information for yearly tax pack as directed by Financial Controller.Mentor and support junior accountants in their professional development, ensuring that the accounting team maintains high standards of accuracy and efficiency.Supports and assists all other finance team members with technical accounting or software queries.Assists the Financial Controller with software change management.Reviews Procedures and Policies as required, provides improvement recommendations.Effectively partners with all teams within the CHC Group by providing trouble shooting, technical and procedural advice.Other ad-hoc tasks and financial modellingQualifications, Skills & AttributesAt least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar financial role, with postgraduate qualifications and professional membership in either the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (CA) or CPA Australia (CPA).In-depth understanding of financial regulations, tax legislation, and industry best practices.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to build complex financial models and perform detailed analysis.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proven track record of identifying issues and implementing effective solutions.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.At CHC we believe a diverse workforce makes us stronger.
