About the RoleThis fast scaling B2C startup is on an exciting growth trajectory and is looking to bring onboard a Senior Financial Accountant to support, manage, and uplift the accounting and finance processes for a critical business entity. You will be joining a challenger business with an engaged, passionate team, doing purpose-driven work, making a significant impact in their industry and in the lives of their customers. This role is important to the business' ongoing growth and you will play a key role in implementing and improving processes to ensure scalability with effective financial management and improved system capabilities.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform monthly reconciliations and prepare supporting work papers, while overseeing the general ledger and accuracy of AP/AR, ledger, and banking transactions.Ensure all financial reporting requirements are met, including the preparation of detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.Analyse and review the monthly P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow movements, comparing them to budget and forecasts.Assist in the preparation of 3-way budgets and forecasts.Oversee statutory obligations such as BAS returns, Income Tax returns, Payroll Tax, Workcover, Superannuation, and IAS.Lead and mentor a team of two junior accountants, providing training and support as needed.About YouMinimum of 5 years of accounting experience, a bachelor's degree, and either CA or CPA qualification is required.You must be service-oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills, strong computer skills, with intermediate knowledge and application of Microsoft Suite (Advanced Excel).Highly organised with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively and meet competing deadlines, while maintaining excellent attention to detail.Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed decisions efficiently and effectively.Enjoys collaborating in a multi-disciplinary team and is always willing to pitch in and take a hands-on approach when needed.
