About the Opportunity We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Financial Accountant to join the Team at ASC, Osborne SA.
Reporting to the Manager Accounting Services, this role is responsible for all financial aspects of ASC's property, plant and equipment and lease asset accounting, including the development, design and implementation of policies and practices to ensure compliance with best practices and accounting standards.
Responsibilities • Develop and implement strategies for achieving excellence in capital asset and lease management in line with strategic objectives.
• Manage the day-to-day capital asset management activities.
• Provide appropriate advice and guidance on leasing standards and processes for effectively managing ASC's range of leased assets.
• Coordinate the provision of responsive and expert financial advice to internal customers.
• Undertake a range of financial accounting and reporting activities such as periodic asset reviews, forecasting, and facilitating end of year reports.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly reconciliations of key financial balances and transaction accounts.
• Investigate issues and problems and ensure that appropriate solutions are achieved.
About you • Tertiary Qualification in Commerce or Accounting.
• Full membership (or part qualified) in CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants ANZ or equivalent accounting qualification with significant post-membership experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and corporate statutory reporting requirements.
• Demonstrated experience in similar role in a corporate accounting environment.
• Excellent attention to detail, high level of accuracy and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to understand, analyse and communicate the financial results of the business operations and financial consequences.
• High level of written and verbal communication skills.
Eligibility This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
