Role Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our Melbourne team. In this role, you will oversee the financial operations of our medium-sized-enterprise group of businesses, manage two junior offshore bookkeepers, and report directly to our fractional CFO. This position offers a fantastic opportunity for someone with 3–5 years of experience to make a significant impact on our financial processes and contribute to our growth.
Key Responsibilities: Financial Oversight: Manage day-to-day financial operations to ensure accurate and timely reporting.Team Management: Supervise and mentor two junior offshore bookkeepers.Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements in compliance with Australian accounting standards.Month-End Close: Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and adjustments.Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.Compliance & Audit: Ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements and liaise with external auditors.Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and systems.Collaboration: Work closely with the fractional CFO to support strategic financial planning.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.CPA or CA qualification is highly regarded.3–5 years of experience in financial accounting roles.Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax regulations.Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.Experience managing or mentoring junior staff is a plus.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.What We Offer: Competitive Salary: Within the range of AUD 100,000 – AUD 120,000, commensurate with experience.Hybrid Work Schedule: Minimum two days per week in our Melbourne office, offering flexibility.Professional Development: Opportunities for growth and advancement within the company.Positive Culture: A supportive team environment aligned with our core values:Go the Extra Mile
