MARS Recruitment is partnering with a prominent financial services firm to seek an outstanding Senior Financial Accountant. This essential role will contribute significantly to the accuracy and timeliness of financial, managerial, and regulatory reporting. Key responsibilities include managing the general ledger, ensuring month-end closures, preparing management accounts, analysing profit and loss statements and balance sheets, compiling statutory financial reports, and assisting with board reporting.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to enhancing financial processes and driving improvements. You should possess strong technical skills and exceptional communication abilities, enabling you to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for accurately maintaining the general ledger.
Completing the month-end close process, including balance sheet reconciliations.
Coordinating quarterly financial accounts in accordance with IFRS.
Preparing monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet analyses.
Assisting with the preparation of monthly management reports.
Assisting in the preparation of the Annual Statutory Financial Report.
Supporting and providing input into the preparation of reports for the Board & Board Committees.
Contributing to ERP system implementation and data migration.
Proactively making recommendations and engaging in process improvements.
Effectively communicating financial information to other business units in a timely manner.
Compiling audit files and managing auditor queries.
Criteria:
Experienced in the Financial Services sector required (with banking an advantage)
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
Strong technical accounting knowledge
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Detail-oriented with strong organisational and time management skills
Energetic, astute and motivated
