Senior Financial Accountant | Engineering & Construction

Senior Financial Accountant | Engineering & Construction ATLAS Recruitment are currently looking for a Senior Financial Accountant for a multi-faceted engineering / property company based in Melbourne CBD.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will work alongside and be responsible for all aspects support including bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, month end tasks and payroll processes.
This role will also include managing complex accounting functions and conducting in-depth financial analyses, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations.
The scope of this role will include managing financial operations across all of the company's entities in Australia.


Key Responsibilities: Manage the financial operations of a business with a turnover of $20-30 million, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all financial activities.
Oversee and manage consolidated company income tax returns and schedules, ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations.
Handle consolidated GST reporting on a monthly basis.
Lead the month-end closing process and preparation of management accounts.
Manage Work in Progress (WIP) accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Administer payroll using payroll system, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
Support the implementation and integration of ERP systems, streamlining financial processes.
Utilise Aconex, Procore, and Xero software to manage financial data and reporting efficiently.
Essential Requirements: Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a senior financial accounting role, preferably within the construction industry.
Demonstrated experience in managing the financial operations of a $20-30 million business.
Proven expertise in corporate taxation and managing consolidated tax returns.
Strong experience with Work in Progress accounting and month-end closing.
Proficiency in GST management and compliance.
Advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting.
Experience with payroll management, preferably using Employment Hero or other system.
Familiarity with construction industry software such as Aconex and Procore.
Prior experience with Xero software and ERP implementation is highly desirable.
