MARS Recruitment is partnering with an established organisation in the insurance sector to recruit a Senior Financial Accountant for a 6-month contract, with the potential for a 6-month extension.
In this role, you will support BAU financial operations while also driving process improvements and enhancing efficiency across the organization.
This position is perfect for a results-oriented professional with a strong technical accounting background, ideally gained from mid-tier or Big 4 accounting firms, who excels at optimising financial processes.Responsibilities:Support BAU (business-as-usual) end-to-end finance functions, including month-end close, management reporting, and financial analysis.Identify inefficiencies in financial processes and implement improvements to enhance accuracy, speed, and compliance.Assist in end-to-end process improvement projects, from ideation to implementation.Collaborate with stakeholders to assess current processes, identify areas for enhancement, and drive change initiatives.Monitor project milestones, manage risks, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.Lead projects to uplift financial reporting processes, generating efficiency and capacity within the current team.Work with internal non-finance stakeholders, including the IT team, to facilitate process changes.Prepare financial statements and regulatory returns as required.Foster a culture of process excellence and accountability across the finance department.Criteria:5+ years of experience in financial accounting.CA/CPA/ACCA qualified.Extensive experience in finance management, with a proven track record of process improvement.Strong project management skills, particularly in leading process optimisation initiatives.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.Proven ability to drive change and manage resistance within an organization.Advanced proficiency in financial software and process automation tools.Note:They operate a flexible hybrid working model.Only Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents will be considered at this time.If you are interested in this opportunity, please apply to the role directly with your resume (Word format) and cover letter.
