Your Role Due to an internal secondment, the Finance department are seeking an Accountant to commence immediately on a temporary basis until 13 September 2024.
There may be possibility for extension or permanency thereafter.
Reporting To The Business Manager, The Senior Financial Accountant Will Work Alongside An AP Officer, Finance Officer And Payroll Officer To Undertake Relevant Reporting, Reconciliation And Oversight Of Each Of The Following Functions:
Month end processing and reconciliation; Preparation of monthly and quarterly accounts; Budget variance analysis and annual forecasting; General Ledger processing, reconciliation and reporting; Maintenance of the fixed assets register and capital expenditure process; Oversight of Payroll and Accounts Payable; Student fees and charges; Collection of debtors; Preparation of relevant statutory reports and returns including FBT, GST and BAS; Compliance and Government reporting; Cash flow reporting.
This is a varied role that will require liaising with other school departments and high attention to detail in managing financial reporting requirements is essential.
Your Profile The successful candidate will have a proven track record in financial management and accounting with experience in financial reporting and reconciliation (BAS, FBT, cashflow, budgets), general ledger reporting and reconciliation, fixed assets management, oversight of payroll and AP/AR processes and general oversight and support to the finance team.
A proactive approach and initiative is essential in this environment as well as outstanding communications skills - both written and verbal.
You will be a Bachelor-qualified Accountant and CA or CPA qualification will be highly regarded.
You will be required to have or obtain a Blue Card (Working With Children's Check) prior to commencement.
