The Financial Strategy and Advise branch are seeking applications for a temporary full-time Senior Finance Officer to join them until 31 December 2024, unless otherwise determined.As the Senior Finance Officer, you will:
Undertake a leading role in the coordination and development of the financial management requirements of the annual State Budget process, and provide strategic advice on funding issues to senior executives.Contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of budget policies, procedures and practices that facilitate and contribute to improved resource allocation and financial management within the department.Job details Position status

About the Role Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Contribute to the preparation of Budget Papers and forward estimates process as part of the annual State Budget process.Coordinate and maintain corporate operating and capital budgets and ensuring departmental accounting records and internal controls are accurate and compliant with appropriate legislation and accounting practices.Undertake complex research activities and prepare submissions, reports and briefing materials on budget development, financial policy and management issues.Identify and provide advice on strategic resourcing issues that impact on funding, then develop strategies and proposals to address the identified issues.Develop, implement and maintain budget policies, procedures and practices which facilitate and support financial management within the department.How to Apply Please attach a brief resume including contact details for 2 referees (referees should have an understanding of your relevant previous work history); andA 2-pg written statement in response to the attached role description.We welcome all applicants to share any support needed to ensure our recruitment process is inclusive.  Applications remain current for 12 months from the closing date and may be considered for appointment to identical or similar vacancies within the Department.
