Beaumont&Beaumont is pleased to present an opportunity for an APS6 Senior Finance Officer position in the External Engagement Branch in a major Commonwealth Government Department.
The section that this role is in is responsible for financial management support across all aspects of the National Redress Scheme. The section supports the Group's management of departmental and administered budgets through establishing budgets and estimates, managing ongoing forecasts and reporting on financial performance.
The section manages the quarterly invoicing cycle where participating institutions are invoicing for their liabilities in the Scheme. This includes managing payment arrangements and other debt management activities. The section also conducts financial assessments of institutions intending to participate in the Scheme to ensure that they can meet their future financial liabilities.
The duties would be equivalent to those of an APS6, and would typically include having to:
Undertake monthly finance tasks including updating departmental forecasts, updating administered soft commitments, preparing accruals and producing reports.Monitor departmental expenditure and commitments, and undertake analysis on key trends.Assist with internal budget management activities, including budget development and maintenance.Updating monthly profiles of special appropriation budget estimates.Assist with the quarterly invoicing of institutions, including reconciling institution liability and revenue data, and managing debts including recommending and tracking payment plan arrangements.To be considered for this position you must:
