This opportunity This role will report into the Head of Planning and Reporting and will be focused on all the accounting aspects for special projects being undertaken by TPG. Responsibilities Manage the end to end accounting aspects of strategic projects such as acquisitions and corporate restructurings, including data gathering, cross functional collaboration, communicating issues and management of those issues with key stakeholders. Working with external advisors and other divisions of TPG on delivering project outcomes. Preparing detailed technical accounting memo's on the impacts of the projects, and an in depth knowledge of the following areas is essential: mergers and acquisitions, asset impairment, purchase price allocation, leases, revenue Presentation and communication of accounting matters to senior management and the ARC as required. Preparation of disclosures in the financial statements and investor materials of the impacts of the projects. Support the external audit process to ensure alignment on accounting impacts Reviewing and advising on legal agreements as required to obtain optimum accounting outcome, while considering impacts on other areas eg tax considerations Assisting the broader team with respect to process improvement and maintaining overall tax governance standards. Provide advice and practical solutions to the business when required. Knowledge and experience A university degree and an internationally recognised accounting qualification Prior experience in a reputable Chartered Accounting firm Strong accounting technical knowledge and ability to document accounting impacts in a clear and concise manner Ability to develop good working relationships quickly Ability to work independently to achieve results yet still able to maintain a collaborative approach when required Ability to provide practical solutions to complex business problems Ability to manage deadlines Ability to work with whole of business and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders Ability to influence change Flexible, adaptable and prepared to learn Advanced Excel skills, proficient at using Word and PowerPoint Knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn Oracle Benefits and perks Flexible hybrid way of working (from home and office) 'Stay Connected Mobile' – Access to a free mobile plan 'Stay Connected NBN' – Access to a free NBN 100 plan 'Your Leave' - an additional 4 days of leave to be used whenever you like - every year Access to TPG Learning Hub platform and internal development opportunities Access to Corporate Partner Discounts Our TPG Telecom Spirit We believe in the power of meaningful relationships to support vibrant, connected communities where everyone belongs.
