Together we're driving to deliver our vision to provide our customers with financial security for a better retirement.We achieve this goal by providing a work environment where people from diverse backgrounds, with a range of skills and experiences can contribute and succeed.Join us as a Senior Finance Manager in our Group Performance & Analytics TeamOur Performance & Analytics team is a high performing, collaborative and business orientated team that work closely with the Divisions, Treasury and Finance teams to support Challenger's overall strategy.A key role where you'll be responsible for overseeing and managing all financial reporting and analysis for our Customer Division, operating as a true business partner, and providing insights and guidance which support strategic decision-making.We work flexibly from our Sydney CBD Office where you can expect to work 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.About the roleAs Senior Finance Manager you will have a blended role, operating as a trusted business partner, driving commercial outcomes as well as developing and managing all financial reporting for our Customer Division. This is a hands-on business partnering role where you will also be "on the tools" providing insightful management reporting, budgeting, and planning, as well as providing financial and commercial analysis.You'll also take the lead on driving the design and implementation of a new Customer data and reporting strategy collaborating across Customer, Finance and Technology.Responsibilities will include (but aren't limited to):Financial and management reporting:Understanding the monthly Challenger sales result and conducting analysis across the Challenger Life sales and Funds Management flows and FUM results.Preparing monthly financial packs and Board papers reporting to senior stakeholders within tight timeframes.Preparing quarterly ASX FUM, half year end and year end analyst pack metrics, various market disclosures and analysis.Review and redesign of Customer reporting on the Power BI platform.Budgeting and forecasting:Collaborating across Finance and the Business to develop the Life sales and FM flows budget and 3-year plan and prepare presentations for senior management.Preparing and maintaining the sales budget and rolling forecast within Anaplan (a cloud-based planning platform).Support Group BP&A to coordinate and consolidate Group budgets and maintaining rolling forecasts.Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management:Building strong relationships with key stakeholders including the Customer Chief Executive and the Management Team, and broadly across Finance, HR, Life and Funds Management Divisions.Presenting results and analysis to key stakeholders including the Customer Chief Executive, Group CFO as well as business unit owners and senior finance personnel.Proactively identifying and driving opportunities for efficiencies and simplification.Understand and maintain the sales incentive program.Preparing sales incentive budget based on the annual sales budget targets.Prepare quarterly reporting on tracking the Distribution team's progress on the sales targets and forecasting expected payout from the sales incentive program.The skills & experience you'll need:The successful candidate will be an experienced finance professional with strong commercial awareness, business partnering and financial analysis expertise.You'll be organised, dynamic, a strong communicator and an accounting all-rounder who has a proactive approach and customer centric partnering approach.Your communication and interpersonal skills will be second to none – you're a natural collaborator, influencer, and partner to senior stakeholders.You'll need to have excellent technical accounting knowledge with 5+ years post qualification (CA or equivalent accounting qualification) experience in a senior accounting capacity ideally from within financial services and/or an ASX Listed environment. As well as:Strong understanding of business and financial drivers and impact of possible outcomes.Demonstrable commercial acumen with the ability to provide timely and insightful analytics to the broader business.Strong ability in conveying complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.Understands and utilises business models, strategic analysis, and business planning.Good experience in MS Excel and other MIS operating systems including forecasting tools.Technical Knowledge: Highly desirable to have experience with Anaplan, Workiva, PowerBI, Workday.Additional Information:Working at Challenger means being part of a diverse, connected team that has fun and loves what they do.
