About the Role:
Reporting to the Director, Finance Business Services, our new Senior Finance Business Partner will play a crucial role within Finance Business Services, responsible for delivering strategic financial partnering to internal University stakeholders.
For the right candidate, this role delivers the opportunity to drive continuous financial improvements and cost-saving initiatives with exposure to high-level decision-making processes and executive management.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with key stakeholders to understand business needs and influence outcomes
Lead the development of financial strategies, budgets, and forecasts
Provide high-quality financial analysis and evidence-based recommendations
Drive and oversee cost-saving initiatives aligned with university objectives
Generate and present detailed management reports to inform strategic decisions
Contribute to business cases and conduct scenario modelling for new initiatives
Perform industry benchmarking to identify growth opportunities
Provide leadership and advice on financial matters in a competitive market
Lead a team of professionals in delivering high-level financial services
This is a full-time, continuing position (36.75 hours per week) at the classification of HEP Level 10 with a salary of $132,932 per annum plus 17% employer superannuation.
About You:
The ideal candidate will possess:
Postgraduate qualifications in finance/accounting or extensive management experience
CPA/CA qualification or equivalent experience in a finance function
A proven track record in finance business partnering with senior stakeholders
Strong strategic planning and policy development skills
Advanced financial modelling and Excel skills
Excellent communication and presentation abilities
Experience in managing multiple projects and meeting critical deadlines
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with diverse teams
Commercial acumen and deep understanding of business drivers behind financial performance
Experience in finance teams undergoing change
