The Senior Finance Business Partner is a pivotal role, collaborating closely with key stakeholders like School and Department Heads to drive strategic and operational success. By embedding within the business, this role ensures efficient resource allocation, provides insightful financial analysis, and supports informed decision-making. As a key player in complex business units, the Senior Finance Business Partner also contributes to the leadership of the service cluster, supporting the Associate Director, Finance Business Partnering.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing expert financial advice, supporting divisional goals, and ensuring efficient resource allocation.Monitoring financial performance, identifying opportunities and risks, and providing actionable insights to drive informed decision-making.Mentoring team members, contributing to service cluster leadership, and continuously improving financial processes.Who we are looking for
We seek a highly skilled financial professional with a passion for understanding complex businesses. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and communication skills, enabling them to translate complex financial data into clear and actionable insights. The upcoming ERP implementation will allow your strong problem-solving, continuous improvement, and influencing skills to be at the forefront during a critical time of finance transformation. Experience in higher education, financial planning tools, and business intelligence is advantageous.
You will also have:
Fully qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).Graduate or postgraduate qualifications in Finance, Accounting or other relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.Experience in a similar role in a similar-sized organisation working with a high degree of autonomy.For further information regarding responsibilities and requirements please refer to the attached PD. This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures. Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This role requires current valid work rights for Australia.
