About the Role Based out of our Brisbane office, Santos is seeking an experienced professional to support the Finance team with Joint Venture audits.
In this role, you will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to source and manage critical documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Additionally, you will contribute to the success of continuous improvement projects within the Eastern Australia and PNG Regional Business Unit, focusing on financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency and outcomes.
This position is offered initially on a 12-month fixed-term basis.
Key accountabilities include: Collaborate with the Santos teams to manage materials related to Joint Venture audit.Source relevant documentation from internal systems such as SharePoint, SAP, Oracle, and others.Request archived materials from internal teams and review them for applicability to current matters.Maintain accurate records and ensure proper file management.Identify inefficiencies in existing finance systems and reporting processes and recommend improvements.Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing data standardisation, automation, and overall efficiency within the finance function.Champion the ESSA (Eliminate, Simplify, Standardise, Automate) mindset within the finance function.About You To excel in this role, you will bring a minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, ideally within the resource industry, along with strong expertise in SAP Finance systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Your in-depth knowledge of Joint Venture accounting and auditing practices, coupled with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, will be key to delivering accurate and insightful financial support.
You'll also have a proven track record of building and managing internal relationships, collaborating across teams, and effectively communicating with multiple stakeholders.
A bachelor's degree in accounting, Commerce, or a related field, along with a relevant accounting qualification (ICAA, CPA, or equivalent), will provide the foundation for your success in this role.
