About the Opportunity This role represents a rare opportunity to work on the pioneering SSN AUKUS Build Program, delivering an essential sovereign capability for Australia.
The Senior Field Engineer will play a critical role supporting the early stages of the Build Program, acting as the primary interface between the engineering team and the wider program team responsible for the Production Demonstrator, Prototyping and Build.
This position ensures the seamless integration of engineering solutions into submarine building activities, facilitating effective communication and problem-solving to support project success.
In the early stages of the program, this role will be responsible for ensuring the business has appropriately mature engineering processes to support the build program, testing and troubleshooting first-use situations.
Responsibilities Provide technical support and guidance to field operations, ensuring engineering solutions are implemented effectively.
Coordinate between engineering and field teams to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines.
Conduct inspections and audits to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Facilitate effective communication and problem-solving to support project success.
Navigate regulatory and safety standards while ensuring project timelines and budgets are met.
About you ? Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Marine Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the defence or maritime industry.
Strong technical knowledge of submarine systems and components.
Proven experience in project management and field engineering.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Eligibility This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level.
Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
