The successful candidate will play an integral role in the following:Represent clients, including providing advice, preparing matters, instructing counsel, and personally appearing as an advocate in complex family law, domestic and family violence, child protection and related matters.Help the Senior Principal Lawyer to supervise legal work and develop the legal skills, train and guide staff within Family Law Services, Legal Aid Queensland staff statewide, and external legal practitioners regarding complex domestic and family violence, family law, child protection, and human rights practices and procedures and related matters.Provide duty lawyer services, FASS and legal information and advice to clients and the public.Provide advice on and contribute to changes in policies, procedures and systems, and undertake operational reporting requirements, as required.You will have:
Extensive experience in the conduct of family law, domestic and family violence, child protection and related matters including preparation, representation, and advocacy.A detailed knowledge of the practice and procedure of family and related law and the ability to contribute to changes in policies, procedures and systems.
Commitment to self-development and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the law and procedure is essential.Experience contributing to the professional development of others, including providing clear guidance, constructive feedback, and legal supervision.The ability to present in a clear, concise, and articulate manner in both oral and written formats, and communicate effectively with both external stakeholders and clients with complex needs.What we offer you:36.25 hrs per week (full time hours)Generous salary packaging12.75% employer super contributionsFlexible working hoursStudy leave for approved work-related courses.
