Accountabilities Ensure all work is undertaken in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with statutory requirements, industry best practice and company policies andprocedures. Conduct weekly safety meetings (toolbox meetings) Ensure all environmental and safety incidents are reported and where required investigated. Mentor Team Members to continually improve HSE&C outcomes. Ensure a strong focus on safety is maintained Actively participate in safety meetings on a regular basis, document and action any issues. Ensure field crews are properly supervised and comply with regulatory and company environmental and heritage, safety procedures and standards. Assist with developing, reviewing, and updating written procedures. Monitor the quality of exploration work being performed to ensure the technical integrity of results and that work quality meets specified standards. Generate and recommend exploration work programmes. Provide input into coordination of exploration heritage surveys and ensure manpower and equipment is available to conduct these programmes. Provide input into exploration Budgets and Forecasts Provide written reports on exploration carried out and results obtained to meet all statutory and or company (monthly) obligations including annual technical reports. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Geoscience or other related discipline combined with a minimum of 7 years' postgraduate experience Membership of professional or appropriate professional associations such as AusIMM or AIG. Minimum 5 years' experience in an exploration geology role, preferably in an iron ore resource in addition to proven ability to work in remote locations on site. Proven experience with coordinating exploration activities and managing contractors with strong organisational and time management skills. Sound understanding of drilling techniques combined with the ability to design effective exploration drill programmes. Minimum of 5 years people management experience with demonstrated experience leading change and transformation initiatives. Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills and ability to engage with key stakeholders. Manual C Class Drivers Licence Senior First Aid Certificate (Disirable) 4WD Driving Course (Disirable) Skills Proven ability to interpret ore bodies and create geological models in industry standard 2D/3D software packages such as Leapfrog/Micromine. Intermediate to advanced skills in ArcGIS/QGIS or other GIS packages. Proven ability to design and implement exploration and resource definition drilling campaigns to delineate and define Mineral Resources leading to the definition of Ore Reserves. Sound understanding of sampling, sampling theory, assaying and QAQC Ability to procure and organise exploration support services. Experience leading and mentoring teams and an ability to provide leadership and development of supervisory staff. The ability to anticipate and manage issues; bringing authority and influence to the Team and being able to leverage lessons learned from past experiences. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills enabling the communication of complex technical concepts to key stakeholders, peers, and other audiences. Experience in reporting systems and defining report requirements including planning, budgeting and forecasting. Demonstrated background in creating and sustaining a positive safety culture.
