A merit list or pool may be used for up to 18 months.Job OverviewDo you have expertise and knowledge in User Experience (UX/CX) research and design? We are seeking candidates from Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, or Adelaide to fill an APS6 position for an immediate start. The Digital Strategy and Planning Branch sits within the Technology and Finance Division. The Branch is responsible for developing and implementing future technology strategies and solutions for DVA. The position is part of the Digital Experience Section which focuses on providing a seamless user experience across DVA's primary digital service touchpoints to enhance their usability, accessibility, and efficiency. The team works to understand and optimize the needs of people and business through co-design activities, collated evidence, and data analysis, to continuously improve their digital experiences.The Key Duties of the Position Include:With limited direction, undertake UX/CX research and design on a range of client and business-facing digital products in DVA.Develop prototype designs using a range of prototyping products as required by the Digital Experience Section to translate complex digital design concepts into transferable business product outlines. Prototype work will also involve regular engagement with Services Australia to develop and refine prototypes.As a member of the Digital Experience Section, strategically engage with DVA business teams to initiate design and product development scoping; and advocate for a client-centric view of digital design and client experience outcomes.Work collaboratively with the Test Manager and project team representatives to ensure system fixes and project change requests are implemented effectively and in a timely manner in accordance with best practice principles for information architecture and user experience design.Collaborate within the Digital Experience Section, taking the lead on a range of projects and specific tasks to identify and improve services as they arise and inform project managers of testing and user issues.Make decisions using good judgment, expertise, and knowledge on the handling of client feedback and complaints for the MyService portal including analyzing and engaging with a range of users to ensure systems issues and errors are identified, understood, and inform a continuous improvement cycle.Provide expertise and specialist technical knowledge on a wide range of other project tasks as required.Minimum RequirementsTertiary Qualifications in Digital Design, User Experience Design, and/or Human-Centred Design or equivalent.Technical proficiency in UX software, such as Adobe XD.Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS).All applicants external to DVA offered employment will be required to successfully undergo a pre-engagement screening check, even if they have a security clearance. The screening check is conducted in accordance with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework requirements.The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance.NotesThis recruitment process is being used to fill ongoing and/or non-ongoing position/s. For more information about the role, please see the Candidate Information Pack. Where a non-ongoing position is offered, the role will be filled for an initial specified term of up to 23 months. A merit pool of suitable applicants may be created which may be used to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies should they become available over the next 18 months.
