Can you see the opportunities to drive great outcomes through access to quality education and learning?As a Senior Executive Lawyer at the Department of Education, you will lead a Branch of over 20 lawyers who provide legal services to the Schools and Higher Education, Research and International (HERI) Groups and specialist commercial law services to the department, as well as deliver the legislation program for the portfolio. You will also assist the General Counsel with the leadership of Legal and provide personal expert legal advice on matters of particular importance to the department.To be a strong contender, you will be strategically focused with demonstrated experience in the provision of high-level legal services relevant to the department. This includes demonstrated analytical and conceptual skills in solving complex legal problems, excellent professional judgment and initiative, and the ability to achieve quality outcomes within tight timeframes.To be eligible for this position, applicants must have admission as a legal practitioner in an Australian Court and hold a Government lawyer Unrestricted Practising Certificate.
