All jobs can be worked flexibly, and we encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and people from diverse backgrounds and abilities.THE ROLEThe role will support work associated with the development of a comprehensive system and strategy that ensures Aboriginal people have shared access to, and the capability to use, locally relevant data and information to set and monitor the implementation efforts to Close the Gap, their priorities and to drive their own development.The role works collaboratively with DFFH executives, managers, and program areas across the state in ensuring Aboriginal designed and delivered research, data, and evaluation principles are embedded in Aboriginal program and service delivery. The role is also tasked with ensuring that policies and programs developed are providing strong client-led outcomes and that there is Aboriginal voice in decision-making processes.The role will contribute to the coordination of the department's annual report on the Victorian Aboriginal Affairs Framework (VAAF), Closing the Gap National Agreement, and Self Determination Framework as well as reporting on the departments Korin Korin Balit-Djak strategy for department forums including the Aboriginal Strategic Governance Forum.The position will require a strong knowledge of Aboriginal culture and principles of self-determination, as well as proven highly developed leadership, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
