Opportunity to progress to a Lead Estimator
THE ROLEInterface closely with the National Estimating Manager and Estimating Leads, and oversee accurate bid preparation, presentation and follow-up for all Duratec and DDR tenders across the NSW and East Coast area.
You will ensure the delivery of the detailed cost estimate and coordinate all tendering activities.
Recognise the need to obtain additional information or seek clarification through RFI's to the Client to ensure a complete set of tender documents.
Prepare and develop accurate cost estimates by overseeing Estimating Assistants or directly carrying out detailed and accurate material quantity take-offs to develop bills of quantities derived from site measurements.
Assist with preparing and developing construction methodologies, programs and submission documentation.
Develop estimates from first principles using site productivity rates.
Hand over detailed tenders with traceability and support into pre-contracts and delivery.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and maintain positive relationships.
Lead and manage a team of future Estimators and Estimating Assistants.
Provide strategy into tenders.
Involvement in bid/no bid process.
Co-ordinate your team workload, time and cost.
ABOUT YOU
Significant experience working within a main contractor environment (experience in the remediation environment will strengthen your application).
Strong interpersonal skills, confidence, professionalism, and be self-motivated.
A strong, financial, and commercial acumen, as well as the ability to identify new project opportunities and ensuring a high success rate of team bids.
High level attention to detail and the ability to work to set timeframes while multi-tasking.
The ability to present your estimates to Senior Management for approval to submit.
Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management / Quantity Surveying / Engineering or similar.
