The Role

The Estimator would lead the identification, estimation and the submission of tenders across our commercial projects. They would be supported by our team but will also be heavily involved in the estimating of the project. We regard this as a senior role in the business with continuous engagement with the MD and senior management team, and are willing to negotiate based on experience.
Sourcing and Identifying key tenders that align with the business direction using established platformsCo-ordinating with the MD and Business Development Manager to evaluate commercial leads and develop proposals.Reviewing and assessing tenders to determine which tenders / proposals will be targetedLead in the Estimating and cost planning of tenders / proposalsIdentification and valuing of VE opportunities to assist in securing a tenderCo-ordinating with design team to convey tender requirements for tender designsReviewing contract documentation and taking the lead in developing tender exclusions and clarifications to manage the business risk.Submission and review of tender RFI's and addendaManaging tender clarifications and negotiation until the project is secured. Undertaking detailed project take offs for supplier and subcontractor engagement Working with the Procurement manager to liaise and engage with supplier's and subcontractors to ensure adequate trade coverage for tenders Working with the Estimator, Procurement and Construction Managers to maintain and build the business's schedule of rates to assist in future tenders. Building new and strong relationships with supplier and subcontractors Our Client is a long-standing, family-owned builder developer that is committed to the Canberra region. This company builds and manages both large- and small-scale commercial, retail and residential projects along with complex specialist builds such as medical suites, heritage work, highly specified boutique hotels and secure facilities.
