Job DescriptionYou will work closely with the Senior Executive Team Members and BID Management Control to develop innovative and alternative construction methods, manage cost control, and ensure the business will achieve financial targets set out in the Business Plan.
ResponsibilitiesDeveloping strategies for the pursuit and procurement of competitive tender projects fitting within the accepted market segments year.Teach staff about the approaches required when reviewing project documents with regards to strategic advantages due to our in-house capabilities, specific areas of work that demand attention due to the scope as compared to the overall requirements of the project.Teach staff to develop strategic alliances with key subcontractors as a method to receive preferential treatment & pricing for a tender.Identify major issues and concerns on a project relating to risk/reward situations.Setting the Directors goals each year and then assuring the goals set for the staff by the chief of Estimating are in alignment with the company goals.Determine the maximum amount of profit that can be obtained on each project during the tendering process by accurately tracking special pricing given to the firm by our subcontractors.Review of conceptual bids.Maintain & update on a quarterly basis the databases used for conceptual and hard bids.Value analysis of clients plans & specifications including coordination, completeness, & clarity.Presentation of bids, estimates, and conceptual bids to our clients.Assuring that our clients receive their conceptual estimates at the agreed upon timeframe.Follow-up with the new or existing clients to assure their needs are being met.You will possessAt least five years industry experience in an estimating role.Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheet, programming and BuildSoft estimating software or equivalent.Experience of providing regular, accurate and reliable financial and non-financial data and progress against targets and goals of the business.If you are looking for an influential role working with a company that prides itself in providing a safe working environment and delivering high-quality projects, interested?
