Remuneration:143k-$151k + 17% super and leave loading

This role is based in our Employee Relations (ER) Advisory team that sits within our wider HR function to provide a centralised service offering the delivery of strategic and operational employee relations and industrial relations support to UNSW stakeholders.
Why Your Role Matters:
As one the Senior ER Consultants in our ER Advisory team, you will manage an ER portfolio team of Consultants and Officers to service a large client group, to deliver expert advice and guidance on a wide range of employee and complex industrial relations matters.
This newly created role will support the development of fair and forward-thinking practices, policies, and procedures. Fostering effective working relationships with the HRBP team and relevant people leaders, you'll shape and implement ER strategies and plans that drive proactive management of issues and continuous improvement initiatives in your area.
Reporting to the Head, Employee Relations Advisor and working across UNSW, you will have the opportunity to manage complex cases and advise on interesting and diverse matters including:
industrial instrument and legislative interpretation
workplace change and restructuring
industrial disputes
employee performance
termination of employment and employee separations
managing ill and injured workers
employment related disclosures and conflicts of interest.

Who You Are:We're seeking a forward- thinking, experienced ER specialist who can lead and support their team through diverse and complex case management. With an extensive background in providing sound ER advice to stakeholders, you'll bring a progressive and practiced approach to shaping and applying ER and HR practices in a large, diverse organisation. Required skills and experience include:
Relevant tertiary qualifications (including industrial relations, HR or law) with extensive experience providing employee relations related advice to line management, and dealing with employee unions, in a large, complex organisation.
Expert knowledge of relevant workplace legislation and current employment case law gained through various organisations and unionised environments.
Proven ability to build effective working relationships and partner with internal clients in providing effective employee relations solutions.
Ability to lead, motivate and train team members, to establish priorities and manage competing deadlines for self and others.
Excellent consultation, influencing and negotiation skills and proven ability to engage effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.
Ability to work independently and contribute to a team environment, providing guidance and supervision to other team members
