Senior Environmental Scientist (Rehabilitation) - (240000 HO) Description Stantec is a world leader in environmental management in the energy and resources sector, in addition to our engineering, asset management, transportation, and technology services.
Due to exciting growth in our Australian Environment and Geosciences Business, we are searching for an experienced and passionate scientist to join our Rehabilitation Team.
Based in our Perth office, our Rehabilitation Team consists of leading experts in their field, comprising environmental scientists and restoration ecologists.
We have demonstrated experience and a pipeline of exciting projects across Western Australia, Queensland, and Victoria.
Joining the Stantec Mine Closure and Geosciences Team, you will carry out the following: Implement large-scale projects for our mining and oil and gas clients.
Lead field surveys with multiple teams in a range of remote and diverse environments across Australia.
Develop and maintain client relationships.
Liaise with internal and external subject matter experts.
Prepare proposals, budgets, and tender documents, tailored to client needs.
Analyse ecological data and prepare clear, concise technical reports.
Provide technical support and advice to the rehabilitation team and the broader environment team.
Receive mentoring to develop your technical skills further, driving your career progression.
Expand your knowledge across various disciplines including terrestrial, aquatic and marine ecology, mine closure, remote sensing, and environmental approvals.
To be successful in the role you will need: Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or a related discipline.
A minimum of 4 years of professional experience directly relevant to the role.
Demonstrated experience in rehabilitation planning, restoration ecology, or ecological monitoring and surveying.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including highly developed technical reporting skills.
Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary studies for mine closure planning and related disciplines.
Eligibility to work in Australia with a current C class unrestricted (manual) drivers license.
Ability to work in a team environment.
