Senior Environmental Scientist (Contaminated Land) We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Environmental Scientist to join our Contaminated Land team. Our team is experienced in planning and executing environmental site assessment and remediation projects which improve the health and wellbeing of the communities that we live in.
In this role you will provide strategic and practical solutions to clients with a broad range of environmental management challenges under the guidance of an experienced Project Director. Your role will include all aspects of project management, including planning, delivery and reporting, and see you work on varied and interesting projects ranging from industrial and Defense sites to greenfields and brownfields redevelopments, groundwater hydrogeology investigations, and multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.
The role can be based at either of our offices in Melbourne CBD, Geelong or Ballarat. Day to day tasks would involve: Project management of contaminated land projects including planning and execution of fieldwork, co-ordination of internal resources, contractor management, budget management and client correspondence. Assist with the scope, design and costing of contaminated land and groundwater investigations. Provide mentoring and training to graduates and junior professionals throughout the delivery of your projects. Lead the preparation of technical reports, focused on presenting information in a clear and logical manner, supported by appropriate interpretation of technical data in accordance with relevant guidelines and legislation. Assist in undertaking fieldwork which may involve sampling of environmental media (e.g. soil, groundwater, surface water or soil vapour), undertaking hydrogeological investigations, or supervision of subcontractors conducting works such as drilling, excavation or remediation activities. To be successful for this role you'll need: Degree in Environmental Science/Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Chemistry or related field. 5 - 7 years' experience within the field of contaminated land assessment and/or environmental assessment and remediation. Strong analytical, reporting and verbal communication skills. A client service focus with strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively in team environments.
