This is a fantastic opportunity to join a Leading Engineering Consulting Firm in the important position of Senior Environmental Planner.
The primary function of the role will involve supporting and preparing environmental impact assessments, particularly for public authority approvals (NSW EP&A Act Part 5). If you are from another state and are not familiar with this legislation the client will allow time to "come up to speed".
Knowledge and experience in the following will also be highly regarded:
preparation of post approval construction environmental management plansauditing and environmental complianceenvironmental feasibility studiesenvironmental planning in Queensland and VictoriaQualification and skills required:
Formal relevant qualifications in planning, environmental planning, environmental engineering, environmental science or related disciplinesDemonstrated experience in the preparation of environmental impact assessments and/or assessment of environmental regulatory approvals for infrastructure projects, primarily in NSW, with a focus on (rail, road, energy, airports, waste)Experience in the development and implementation of environmental management plans, policies and initiativesExcellent technical, project management and communication skills to manage the process and preparation of environmental impact assessments, preliminary environmental reports, environmental statements, environmental management plans as well as the preparation of tender documentation and proposals.Strong knowledge of State and Federal environmental legislation, as well as demonstrable knowledge of environmental mitigation and protection planning measures.The ability to support the growth of the business in this sector by developing relationships with existing and future client contacts, attending meetings, supporting the team and junior staff, ensuring client needs are met and deliver a high quality and cost-effective service.Demonstrated strong analytical, research and technical report writing skills, including the ability to critically analyse issues relating to environment/consenting/planning and implement appropriate solutions taking into account the project context and business needs.Recognised ability to work independently and succeed in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team environment.Project management of resources and timelines and the ability to manage budgets
