Our State Government client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Environmental Officer to join their team.
In this critical role, you will provide expert guidance and environmental expertise to support the department's and government's environmental management commitments.
Key Responsibilities:Provide technical and specialist environmental advice on environmental assessments, legislation, compliance, and management throughout all phases of regional projects.Prepare, review, and improve Environmental Management Plans (EMPs), Review of Environmental Factors (REF), Environmental Assessment Reports (EAR), contract specifications, audits, briefs, and other environmental reports.Identify and apply for relevant development approvals (permits) to ensure continuous improvement.Assist regional staff with the supervision of road construction and maintenance contracts, ensuring environmental management compliance, auditing, and reporting meet all legislative and departmental obligations.Develop and implement policies, standards, and specifications across district units to enhance environmental management activities and outcomes.Deliver environmental training to regional staff and associated stakeholders.Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Environmental Management System.Collaborate with other Environmental Officers to ensure consistency in environmental management practices across the state.Mandatory Qualifications:Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Planning, Resource Management, Environmental Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.Current Class C driver's licence.If you are ready to bring your environmental expertise to a dynamic role where you can drive positive environmental outcomes, click apply today!
