SENIOR CONSULTANT
North Sydney or Newcastle base
Applies advanced/well-developed consultancy and problem-solving skills.
Responsible for identifying issues, forming hypotheses and helping with the implementation of change.
Will manage larger aspects of the problem-solving process and be responsible for presenting findings and formulating recommendations.
Will often help more senior employees to structure the work and manage associates working on the project.
Has often gained industry specific knowledge.

The level 6 Senior Consultant works on billable projects within Ramboll's services and may also support business critical proposal and/or marketing efforts.
Employees in this job family will typically be working independently on projects and performing tasks within the consulting/engineering field.

ROLE DESCRIPTION
We currently have exciting opportunities to join our impact assessment team across our NSW offices in Newcastle and Sydney.
We're looking for the right motivated and passionate people to join our growing team of environmental consultants who genuinely care about what they do and help to embed sustainability in how we operate day-to-day as a team and as a company.

You would become part of our rapidly growing impact assessment team, focusing on environmental assessments and statutory approvals for a broad range of infrastructure and renewable energy projects.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Participate actively in client meetings/discussions and may develop some clients on own.
Develop significant sections of proposals.
TECHNICAL CAPABILITY
Design own assignments and work independently or with minimal supervision.
Demonstrate mastery of relevant skills.
Conduct independent technical analyses and may assist in directing technical analysis of others.
Assist in scoping, conducting, supervising and assigning fieldwork.
May conduct independent site visits of complex facilities.
Develop innovative approaches to solving complex problems in project work.
PROJECT/PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
Manage small projects or substantial portions of larger projects and delegate and supervise accordingly.
Train or assist in training less experienced staff.
May assist in development and management of project budgets.
May participate in hiring and recruiting.
CLIENT SERVICES
Prepare documentation of technical analyses and research.
Develop significant sections of reports; may oversee report preparation.
Produce client communications.
Play significant or supporting role in client contacts (e.g., making presentations at client meetings or serving as a technical backup, coordinating meetings/presentations to clients).
May assist in preparation of technical papers.
May participate in seminar presentations to staff or at technical conferences.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline (civil, environmental, chemical) or relevant science discipline (environmental science, geology, chemistry, physics, toxicology or biology) and 8+ years of qualifying experience.

Professional certification or licensure within their primary state of residence/operation or professional certification of other disciplines if available and relevant to job function.
