What you will be doingAs our Senior Environmental Approval Specialist, you'll guide AGR's key clients with expertise in Environmental Impact Assessments, offshore Environmental Plans, and onshore Environmental Management Plans. Bring your regulatory and project management skills to prepare and coordinate EIA documents, manage technical studies, and support stakeholder and regulator engagement. In addition, you will:
Provide expert environmental and regulatory advice to clients.Prepare and coordinate Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) documents, including offshore Environmental Plans (EPs), onshore Environmental Management Plans (EMPs), and EPBC Act Referrals.Coordinate and manage specialist consultants for technical studies supporting EIAs (e.g., ecology, heritage, oil spill modelling, underwater sound studies), and interpret results for EIA reports.Facilitate and participate in risk assessment workshops.Assist clients with stakeholder consultation and liaise with government regulators.Collaborate with engineering teams to refine project designs.Support clients in project implementation readiness, assurance management, and end-of-project auditing.Contribute to the preparation of project proposals.The role is based in Perth, Australia and the candidate should have the right to live and work in Australia. Flexibility to working hours may be required.
What we are looking forIn this impactful role, you must demonstrate proficiency in environmental assessments, compliance management, and risk mitigation strategies. Your ability to communicate complex information effectively will be essential in collaborating with diverse stakeholders. A proactive approach to staying updated on industry trends and regulations will drive success in this position.
In addition, you will:
Over 10 years of experience in environmental management within the offshore industry.Proven ability to independently coordinate and prepare environmental approvals for offshore projects.In-depth knowledge of Commonwealth (NOPSEMA) and state-specific environmental regulations and industry legislation.Experience managing compliance programs effectively to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies applicable to offshore environmental scenarios.Competencies and Capabilities:
Strong technical writing skills, with a keen attention to detail in documentation and reporting.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, facilitating effective collaboration with stakeholders.Demonstrates a strong work ethic and commitment to achieving project goals.Personable and approachable, fostering positive relationships with team members and clients.Capable of working independently when necessary while maintaining team collaboration.Adaptable and flexible, able to respond to changing project needs and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
