The Mt Cattlin operation is in the Shire of Ravensthorpe. Our team is looking for support from a Senior Environmental Advisor to help us continue our journey and transition to care and maintenance. This is a site-based role, roster to be discussed with the preferred candidate; a site offers Residential, DIDO southern WA region, and FIFO Perth. THE OPPORTUNITY
The Senior Environmental Advisor is an integral role in supporting safe and successful operational outcomes at the Mt Cattlin site. You will play a crucial role in overseeing the environmental management of our mine site during its transition into care and maintenance phase. As a member of the site Health, Safety, Environment and Community team, you will share your wealth of knowledge and technical skills with the geology, open pit mining, and processing areas. You will provide assistance to the corporate Business Development team, interacting with the Operations team leaders and Mine Engineering department to implement good practices, especially around rehabilitation and closure liability, into business as usual. You will work alongside other industry professionals to help them find practical and sustainable solutions for regulatory compliance and industry best practice. You will provide mentoring and directional support to small earthworks teams undertaking site rehabilitation, ensuring the 'E' in the team is just as valued. Your key role outputs will be ensuring the highest quality of care and advice as well as assisting site leaders in planning safe works. Role requirements : Tertiary qualification in Environmental science, Hydrogeology, or Environmental engineering (consideration given to current student with +10 years' practical experience) Australian issued C class manual drivers' licence Post graduate studies in Mine Closure, Tailings Management, Waste Rock Management, Sustainability or Water Management (desirable) AusIMM, CPPA, or other industry memberships (desirable) RIIEH305F – Operate and maintain a four-wheel drive vehicle (desirable) Experience with ISO 14001 certification (desirable)
As our preferred candidate you will be required to
participate in a verification process which will include: Provision of a recent National Police Clearance Pre-employment medical (including drug and alcohol testing) Proof of the right to work in Australia Probation period of 6 months Minimum of 2 reference checks from recent employers
