Health, Safety & Environment (Mining, Resources & Energy) We're looking for an experienced and driven Senior Environmental Advisor to join us at the Vulcan Mine Complex, part of Vitrinite's operations near Dysart in Central Queensland. Reporting directly to the SSE, this role offers the chance to contribute significantly to our Environmental team. You'll be involved in a wide range of environmental monitoring and compliance activities as we expand our mining operations. Work Schedule: This role operates on a 5:2 roster. This position is available to candidates local to Dysart or FIFO from Brisbane. What We Offer: Clear career progression pathways Professional development and training opportunities A supportive, family-oriented culture, with annual company events Key Responsibilities: Conduct environmental monitoring (groundwater, surface water, dust, waste, weeds, and flora/fauna), enter data, review field data for incident investigations, and prepare technical reports. Perform inspections on waste management, erosion control, and rehabilitation progress, including routine monitoring of erosion structures and post-runoff assessments. Update water quality monitoring databases and conduct investigations for any exceedances. Monitor and manage weed control. Deliver environmental training to site staff to promote best practices. Oversee rehabilitation efforts on exploration leases, track progress, and update maps for rehabilitated zones. Conduct clearance inspections, spotter and catcher services, and participate in vegetation management. Perform environmental risk assessments to identify potential risks and create mitigation plans. Ensure adherence to environmental standards and maintain a safe work environment. Support mining lease application processes by conducting relevant assessments. Collect data for environmental reporting and comply with safety, health, and organisational requirements. Supervise tasks within your scope, maintaining relevant competencies and a thorough understanding of legislative and SHMS requirements as they apply to your supervisory role within Vulcan Mine's management structure. About the Candidate: Relevant tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Natural Resources Science or equivalent; 3+ years in a similar role within the Mining Sector; Class C driver's license; Be proficient in QGIS and spatial databases; Knowledge of relevant Qld Environmental legislation; Ability to work outside water monitoring or inside with data entry or report writing. Remuneration: The salary for this role is up to $180,000 pa depending on experience. Other Requirements: May be required to complete background screening which may include a criminal check and validation of qualifications.
