Fortescue's Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people.Roster: Monday to Friday.The Fortescue Environment team is currently seeking Senior Environmental Advisors within its Environment Approvals team. As an experienced EIA Practitioner, you will be responsible for obtaining a range of environmental approvals to ensure Fortescue achieves its operational and development targets. Key to the success of this position will be the ability to develop good interpersonal relationships with workers on all levels of the organisation. Personal commitment, competence, consistency, reliability and a practical approach are crucial elements of this role.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver environmental approvals that are aligned with business objectivesConduct environmental impact assessments of Fortescue's sites and projectsPreparation and submission of Fortescue's Environmental Approval applicationsProvide environmental approvals advice including approvals strategies, project management and management of environmental studies for approvals purposesManagement and supervision of consultants and contractorsCommunication of Fortescue's environmental approvals internallyConduct site visits, as requiredQualifications and ExperienceA tertiary Degree in Environmental Science, or equivalentDemonstrated advanced knowledge and understanding of State and Federal environmental legislationKnowledge of environmental management relevant to dust, noise and marine impactsAdvanced reporting writing, interpersonal and communications skillsA strong understanding of Microsoft software applicationsDesired - 5 - 8 years' experience in an environmental role within the resources industry or an associated government departmentDesired – experience in use of GIS softwareDesired knowledge and understanding of the Pilbara environmentAbout UsBe part of something big.
