An exciting opportunity to join Ventia (placed #3 in the AFR BOSS Best Places to Work - Property, Construction and Transport category) in a Senior Environmental Advisor role on the Transurban motorways and tunnels network contract. Some flexibility is required due to Transurban being a 24/7, 365-day operation. Must be able to work from various site locations and offices within the greater Brisbane area.

About the Role
You will be responsible for providing strong environmental leadership by supporting the project team to plan and execute work activities in accordance with contract, approved systems and standards through mentoring and assurance activities. The role is a balance of office and field-based activities across day and night shift operations to perform tasks ranging from reporting to inspections and will have hands-on collaboration with stakeholders and partners.
Accountabilities include:
Compliance to support delivery commitments, legislation, regulations and industry standards as well as technical aspects, permits and monitoring requirements
Inspections and audits for in-field assurance activities, improvement initiatives, subcontractor compliance, environmental controls and incident response
Champion continuous improvements and innovative ideas and methodologies
Driving excellent risk and SHEQ performance within the project

Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in science, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, Natural Resource Management, Ecology or relevant discipline
Drivers licence
Construction white card
ICAM Lead Incident Investigation (or ability to acquire)
Lead auditor (or ability to acquire)
Erosion & Sediment Control (IECA BPESC) training
Spill kit training
