What can our construction projects build for you? CPB Contractors along with our industry partners has been selected as preferred proponent to deliver two major packages for the Cross River Rail Projects: the Tunnel, Stations and Development (TSD) package and the Rail, Integration and Systems (RIS) package. Cross River Rail is a new 10.2 kilometre rail line from Dutton Park to Bowen Hills, which includes 5.9 kilometres of tunnel under the Brisbane River and the CBD.
The RIS package is crucial to the overall delivery and success of Cross River Rail, and its integration with the Queensland Rail network. RIS will be delivered by the UNITY Alliance which brings CPB Contractors, UGL, AECOM and Jacobs together with partners HASSEL, RCS Australia, Acmena, Martinus Rail and WIRED Overhead Solutions to deliver the full scope of works over the next five years. This includes:
Rail civil and electrical worksBrownfield rail surface works primarily to the north of the tunnel, including an upgrade of Exhibition Station and a major augmentation of Mayne YardUpgrade ofseven suburban stations to the south and a major augmentation of Clapham YardRail operational systems worksRail signalling works and communication, and integration and commission activities.Reporting to the Environment Manager, CPB Contractors are currently seeking a Senior Environment Advisor. Responsibilities will include:
Auditing, amending and implementation of the Construction Environmental Management PlansProviding sound and timely technical advice, training and assistance to the projectSupporting the Environment Manager and design team in reviewing the Environmental Design Deliverables for the Work PackagesMaintaining a positive and outcome driven relationship with key project team members such as the Client representatives, the Independent Monitor and senior project management and supervision teamsParticipating in internal and external AuditsParticipating in key multi-disciplinary review, planning and construction meetingsCoordination of technical deliverables associated with matters such as contaminated land, acid sulfate soils, erosion and sediment controlUndertaking field inspections and audits on environmental performance criteria, compliance and defects and responding to IncidentsCoaching and mentoring the more junior members in the environmental teamMinimum requirements for this role include the following: Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Planning, Sustainability or associated disciplinesPrior experience in a similar position within the construction industryCurrent CPESC accreditation preferredCost, program and subcontractor management experience desiredExcellent attention to detail with up-to-date knowledge of all relevant legal, regulatory environmental requirementsDemonstrated effective on the ground problem solving techniques and skills to drive delivery of project outcomesHold proven verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with an ability to develop and maintain relationships across diverse stakeholdersLateral thinker with the ability to critically interrogate informationFocus and commitment to a zero harm environmentCPB Contractors is an equal opportunity employer, committed to workplace diversity and to providing flexible work opportunities at our offices and projects.
