Santos has a climate transition action plan that will continue to evolve for the global energy evolution.About the RoleBased between our Darwin office and Darwin LNG site, the Senior Environmental Adviser ensures regulatory commitments are met, reduces instances of non-compliance, and promotes a strong HSE culture.Responsibilities include undertaking environmental inspections and audits, investigating incidents, providing environmental advice to site personnel, coordinating environmental consultants, delivering training and inductions, reviewing contractor's environmental documentation, and reviewing environmental related reports provided by consultants.Key accountabilities include:Implementation of the DLNG Environment Protection Licence 217 - 03 (EPL217-03) and Operational Environmental Management Plans.Undertake environmental inspections and monitor activities to ensure operations comply with safety and environmental approval requirements and the Santos Management System (SMS).Lead or participate in environmental auditing and reporting, including compliance auditing and contractor audits at tender, pre-mobilisation, and on-site.Participate in or lead investigations of significant environmental incidents on operating facilities as required.Manage environmental data in Santos's online data repository as well as Santos' master database (provided to consultants for reporting purposes).Assist in the preparation of the Annual Environmental Monitoring Report (delivered by environmental consultants).Prepare and submit the Annual Return required by EPL217.Assist in reporting waste and other reporting to Santos corporate office.Monitor the incident database and quality of reports and notify relevant managers of any non-conformances.Write, review, and revise environmental management documentation (e.g. plans and procedures) as appropriate.Conduct regulatory consultations to ensure operational activities meet regulatory expectations.Develop environmental Management of Change documentation to support changes in relation to environmental approvals for production operations.Project manage third-party consultants conducting environmental monitoring at DLNG and conduct technical reviews of their reports as required.Support the WANATL Environmental Manager, DLNG Onshore Installation Manager and Operations Supervisors to implement improvement measures if HSE performance is non-compliant.About YouWe are seeking someone with experience in the hydrocarbon industry, with a strong background in environmental management, ideally site experience and have worked to implement Environmental Protection Licences and Approvals, and NT HSE environmental legislation.You excel at multitasking in fast-paced environments and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with a keen attention to detail. You have a solid understanding of quality and safety management principles. You also have training and experience as an auditor.Essential qualifications required for this position are:Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, or environmental engineering or relevant fields with extensive hydrocarbon industry experience.Drivers Licence.Ideally, you will be proficient with electronic maintenance management and incident reporting systems, and a strong knowledge of quality and safety management principles such as IMO-ISM, SA4801, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 14001.Supporting a Diverse WorkforceSantos acknowledges that we operate on the traditional lands of First Nations people.
