About the Role Are you a seasoned hydrogeologist with background in the petroleum or resources industry?
Santos is seeking a Senior Environmental Adviser, based at Brisbane, to act as the subject matter expert for groundwater and hydrogeology across onshore petroleum and gas business.
Key accountabilities include: Subject matter expert for groundwater and hydrogeology across our onshore business.Expert hydrogeological advice in relation to baseline studies and impact assessments in support of environmental approval applications for petroleum and gas activities.Scoping and management of consultants and contractors who provide expert advice regarding protection of groundwater resources due to petroleum and gas activities.Scoping, technical review, and interpretation of groundwater monitoring reports prepared for internal and external stakeholders.Provide internal advice on groundwater-related government legislation and policy.Simple communication of technical concepts and information that is tailored to the target audience including business leadership, regulatory government agencies, consultants and contractors, and external stakeholders such as joint venture partners, community groups, and traditional owners, to support business activities.About You
To be successful in this role, we are seeking professionals with strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with demonstrated experience in the following:
Extensive hydrogeology experience in the petroleum or resources industry.Strong background in groundwater management and impact assessment methods, particularly with respect to the protection of water resources and groundwater dependent ecosystems.Practical implementation of Australian national and state-based regulation and policies regarding groundwater protection and groundwater resource management.Competent in groundwater monitoring design, implementation, and interpretation.Strong project management skills and ability to engage and influence stakeholders to collaborate effectively.Ideally, you hold a Degree/tertiary qualifications relevant to the field of Hydrogeology (Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, Earth Sciences).
