We have a new and exciting opportunity for an experienced and proactive Senior Entry Level Programs Business Partner to play a key role in supporting the performance and development of our apprentices, graduates, and trainees. In this role, you will work closely with formal leaders across the business, providing subject matter expertise, guidance, and coaching to ensure the success of the Entry Level Programs (ELP). Your efforts will contribute directly to the overall effectiveness and alignment of the programs with Western Power's strategic objectives.
This is a full-time, permanent role located at our head office in the Perth CBD.
Your Role in Action The Senior Entry Level Programs Business Partner will lead the design, development, and continuous evaluation of entry-level program frameworks that are tailored to meet the evolving needs of the business. This includes implementing best practices in coaching and mentoring to help individuals successfully complete their qualifications, ensuring measurable business benefits are delivered.
Some of the key responsibilities in this role include:
Lead the planning and coordination of the annual program's recruitment process, acting as the key contact to internal HR stakeholders to ensure an effective end to end recruitment and onboarding experience.Partnering and mentoring formal leaders to carry out their apprentice/graduate/trainee management responsibilities, to successfully meet the program's requirements.Work closely with the training team to ensure apprentices/graduates/trainees are successfully completing their training and on track with "on the job" requirements to ensure successful completion of the required qualification.Provide input into the apprentice/graduate/trainee programs, policies, procedures, guidelines, and handbooks to ensure they remain up-to-date and relevant.Effectively coordinate and manage the annual Apprenticeship/Graduate/Trainee Program graduations, ensuring engagement of Western Power formal leaders and relevant dignitaries.Supporting the formal leaders to facilitate final placements for all entry level program participants, where applicable.Analyse trends and metrics to determine effectiveness of the program and opportunities for continuous improvement.Ensure that all training is in line with the Apprentice trainee program competency framework provided for under the wages Competency Framework.What Makes You a Great Fit Relevant tertiary qualification in a HR, Training, Business, Project Management, or Leadership or related disciplinesExtensive and demonstrated level of knowledge and expertise in leading such ELP program initiatives or similar, preferably within a large operational workforceThe ability to 'lead self' by coordinating and balancing multiple initiatives in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlinesHighly developed teamwork, collaboration, and customer focus skillsStrong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of management through clear, informed, and logical discussions/presentationsInnovative and creative problem-solving skillsProven skills to drive performance targets to completionExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProven skills to influence, develop, and motivate people and change behavioursStrong experience in negotiation, conflict resolution and managing public and stakeholder relationsProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.)Valid WA Driver's License Class 'C' or 'C-A'By joining Western Power, you will contribute to powering a cleaner energy future.
