About the role
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Engineering Officer to join the Transmission Services Management team. This position can be based in Inverell or Tamworth.
The Senior Engineering Officer is responsible for the implementation processes in the analysis, design, planning, execution and technical evaluations across a broad range of technical functions, including development of new criteria and applications of knowledge and procedures across the Energy Network. The role will also require project management responsibility for the evaluation, design programs of work, and validation of equipment and systems and managing the development of broad plans, budgets, and strategies.
Key Responsibilities

Manage the development, implementation plus ongoing monitoring and review of work packets to achieve maximum commercial and technical performance.
Prepare annual work budgets and strategically assist with the implementation and monitoring of strategic expenditure programs in the Energy Network.
Provide high level strategic and technical evaluation and development inputs across a broad range of activities in Energy Network programs and designs.
Take responsibility for preparing reports from detailed analysis and developing recommendations and implement business strategies to monitor system performance within the Energy Network.
Collate statistical data and present complex reports for business management with recommended changes in process and procedures relating to system enhancements.
Provide high level technical assistance and strategic advice to business stakeholders and customers.

About You
In order to be successful in this position, you will possess:

Extensive experience in a similar engineering or Senior Technician role in the Energy/Electrical and/or Utilities Industry.
A complete knowledge and application of current network design philosophies, procedures, statutory requirements and Essential Energy Electrical Safety Rules.
Demonstrated experience to utilise analytical and technical knowledge to manage activities during planned and unplanned events providing appropriate solutions to technical/engineering issues in the Energy Network technical environment.
Recognise and rectify unplanned events of a critical nature and utilise essential knowledge and associated skills to provide timely resolutions.
Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills with the ability to manage diverse and complex issues.

Required Qualifications

Advanced Diploma of Electrical Engineering or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications.
Completion of an Electrical Apprenticeship.
Drivers licence.
WorkCover NSW Construction Induction Cert.
Attainment and ongoing successful maintenance of all regulatory, industry and business required licences, authorisations and other such certificates deemed necessary for the role.

Desirable

Level 3 Restricted Zone Substation Access.
