About the Role We are currently recruiting for a Senior Engineering Officer to join the Northern or Central Mains Design teams.
This position can be based within the Northern or Central Regions including Tamworth, Inverell, Armidale, Dubbo.
The Senior Engineering Officer is responsible for the implementation processes in the analysis, design, planning, execution and technical evaluations across a broad range of technical functions, including development of new criteria and applications of knowledge and procedures across the Energy Network.
The role will also require project management responsibility for the evaluation, design programs of work, and validation of equipment and systems and managing the development of broad plans, budgets, and strategies.
Key Responsibilities Complete, implement and manage the delivery of the design work packets including design, drafting and review of designs to achieve maximum commercial and technical performance as directed. Responsible for the coordination of engineering surveys as required to obtain relevant data to complete detailed designs. Prepare design cost estimates to assist with the implementation and monitoring of strategic expenditure programs for the Network Design Group across its various functions. Provide mentoring, training and development to other team members as required within Network Design. Provide high level technical assistance and strategic advice to business stakeholders and customers. About You In order to be successful in this position, you will possess:
Extensive experience in a similar engineering role in the Energy/Electrical and/or Utilities Industry. A complete knowledge and application of current network design philosophies, procedures, statutory requirements and Essential Energy Electrical Safety Rules. Demonstrated experience to utilise analytical and technical knowledge to manage activities during planned and unplanned events providing appropriate solutions to technical/engineering issues in the Energy Network Technical environment. Recognise and rectify unplanned events of a critical nature and utilise essential knowledge and associated skills to provide timely resolutions. Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills with the ability to manage diverse and complex issues. Required Qualifications Advanced Diploma of Electrical Engineering or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications. Drivers licence. WorkCover NSW Construction Induction Cert. Attainment and ongoing successful maintenance of all regulatory, industry and business required licences, authorisations and other such certificates deemed necessary for the role.
