We live our core values: determined, innovative, reliable and collaborative.The Senior Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading the engineering discipline within KDAu Defence Systems Programs. This role provides technical leadership for engineering managers, engineers and other technical staff working on a broad range of engineering projects within Defence Systems. Key responsibilities include:Main Tasks:Providing the Engineering framework for engineering work being conducted within KDAu for Defence Systems related programs.Implementing engineering processes relating to engineering work being conducted within KDAu for Defence system related programs.Ensuring there are appropriate engineering business tools (e.g. CAD) to support engineering work being conducted.Ensuring the effective configuration management and document management occurs for Defence System related programs.Monitor the development of engineering skills within the team and ensure engineers are appropriately trained and qualified to undertake assigned tasking.Implementing a program of professional development to encourage engineering team members to become Registered Engineers and achieve Chartered Professional Engineering status with Engineers Australia.Providing a senior level of engineering review for key engineering related documents (e.g. Systems Engineering Management Plan) within Defence System related Programs.Liaising with the Engineering Manager at the Kongsberg Production Capability to achieve commonality of engineering processes and tools, where appropriate.Providing technical support to the development and review of technical documents in support of business development activities.Providing reporting on the status of the engineering function at management reviews including the monthly Business Performance Review.Collaborating with Business Support develop and manage a program for the recruitment and appropriate supervision of engineering interns working on Defence Systems at the Mawson Lakes Facility.Monitoring the level of engineering resources required to effectively support the successful delivery of Defence System related programs and support the recruitment and allocation of resources as required.Supporting the development of functional and project budgets for engineering resources.Required Qualifications and ExperienceTertiary qualification in Engineering.Post Graduate qualification in Engineering (Highly desirable).Tertiary qualifications in Management (Highly desirable).Minimum of 15 years professional engineering experience.Minimum of 10 years engineering management experience.Engineering experience within the Australian Defence Industry.Experience in managing the engineering discipline for multiple programs.Must be an Australian citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain an Australian security clearance.Must be able to access information controlled under the US International Traffic of Arms Regulations (ITAR).Location: Mawson Lakes, AustraliaDeadline: COB Thursday 21st November 2024 5 pm AEST, please apply via the Seek Website.
