As a Senior Software Engineering Manager at Swyftx, you'll lead and inspire multiple product engineering squads, driving technical excellence and innovation at every step. How we workWe are organised in product squads, with a product manager, designer and tech lead in each, along with anywhere from 3 to 6 engineers.Squads are responsible for domains such as deposits, trading and customer onboarding, and look after setting roadmap for delivery of major new features/products, optimising existing features/products, and dealing with tech debt.Engineering Managers look after 2 or more squads, and sit on the Tech Leadership Team alongside the Director of Product and Head of Design.What we buildOur stack is Node.js, AWS and React/React Native.Our trading platform needs to be highly scalable to deal with sharp peaks in the market.As custodians of our customers' money, security is also a key consideration in how we engineer things.With over 800,000 customers, we place a lot of emphasis on design and user experience so that our customers can have the easiest-to-use and most trustworthy experience.Some of your key responsibilities in this role will include:Lead and mentor two product engineering squads, driving performance and fostering an inclusive, high-performing culture.Collaborate with our technical director on overall architecture direction and support the squad tech leads in the design of scalable, secure, performant software.Collaborate with Product, Design, and senior leadership in defining the squad roadmap and priorities.Develop leadership capabilities within your teams through continuous feedback, coaching, and professional development.Champion agile practices, ensuring effective sprint planning, task allocation, and successful project delivery.Implement and enhance processes, tools, and governance to maintain technical excellence and compliance across all teams.To be successful you will have:Extensive engineering experience, including experience in a leadership role overseeing multiple product-focused engineering squads.A strong technical background with a comprehensive understanding of software development principles, architectures, and best practices.Experience partnering with product management, design, and other stakeholders to define product roadmaps, prioritise features, and ensure that engineering efforts align with business objectives.Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing long-term technical strategies that drive business growth.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse stakeholders.Some of our perks and benefits include:Fully stocked kitchen, breakfast and lunch foods, unlimited fresh fruit, snacks and kombucha.An inhouse barista and weekly catered lunches on a Wednesday.Unlimited fee-free trading.Career growth, training, mentorship, and development opportunities.Social activities, game breaks and end of month awards.$190,000 - $215,000 a year
