We are looking for a mid-level to Senior Engineer with experience in 'water design and resource management' to work within our water and sewer team. This role could work out of Warners Bay or Central Coast office. The principal objective for the role will be to work closely with the project teams in the scoping, planning, management, design, and construction of water and sewer related assets. This would include strategy development, engineering design management, client and authority liaison, and business development. The position will suit someone with a background in water and sewer who is looking to further their professional development and skill set.
As an Engineer within the water resource group your role will include: Contribute to master planning development areas through water and sewer servicing strategy planning; Develop and manage concept and detailed design of complex works water and sewer assets such as wastewater pumping stations, water pumping stations, PRV's, trunk water and sewer mains, & reservoirs; Work within and assist to coordinate a team of engineers, designers, and draftspeople; Liaise with relevant stakeholders, including clients, councils, and service authorities in a timely and efficient manner; Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team of specialist consultants, including Construction Engineers, Town Planners, Surveyors, and Project Managers to get the best outcomes for all stakeholders; Mentor, guide, and train junior staff; Be actively involved in quality assurance requirements, including documentation auditing, and non-compliance management. Required Skills and Experience: Tertiary qualifications in Engineering; 5+ years relevant industry experience, preferably within an engineering design consultancy or water authority environment; Extensive knowledge of local design standards and water authority codes; Comprehensive design skills and a working knowledge of design programs AutoCAD, Pipes++, WATHAM, INFOWORKS, or other hydraulic design software programs; Practical knowledge in areas such as project management and construction are highly desirable; The ability to multitask, prioritise work and meet established deadlines; Possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal; Lateral thinking skills to tackle and overcome complex engineering problems.
