With global expertise, we manage 51.5km of track and 21 stations, with a planned expansion into southwest Sydney.Job DescriptionAbout the Role We have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Engineer Overhead Wiring to join our Engineering & Maintenance Delivery team. Reporting into the Principal Engineer Electrical, your role will play a pivotal part in providing support to the Principal Engineer Electrical with stewardship of the Electrical discipline assets and provide assets that allow safe train and station operations.Key Responsibilities include (but not limited to):Support the Principal Engineer in the stewardship of the Overhead Wiring discipline assets for MTS including the development of asset strategies, asset programs/plans, maintaining the asset register and maintenance schedules.Support MTS as a discipline SME concerning network expansion and new improvement or maintenance projects, including determining requirements, reviewing scope, asset acceptance and supporting project defect close-out.Provide engineering knowledge in asset management, technical, operational and maintenance information in areas of expertise.Keep the Principal Engineer informed promptly with a summary of issues and actions. Separately, promptly, and specifically discuss major safety, operational critical and customer-facing issues.Support the Principal Engineer in the analysis of asset performance (including condition monitoring systems) and make recommendations to ensure asset performance targets are met.Identify where MTS have work systems gaps, escalate, and assist in developing and formalizing the issue of engineering technical and procedural instructions to relevant internal and external stakeholders.Desired Skills and ExperienceAbout You You are a confident and competent Engineer with 5 years of experience in Overhead Wiring (OHW) Design and Maintenance, and with at least 3 years experience in a large-scale railway project.Holding recognised tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering, you will be technically competent with Overhead Wiring (OHW) catenary and solid conductor bar systems, including interface with Traction Power system and Traction return system.In addition, you will have good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to establish positive working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Engineer with a positive can-do attitude, to join a dynamic team and work on a world class rail infrastructure project.You will also possess:Knowledge and implementation of the NSW Work Health and Safety Act, the Rail Safety National Law, SafeWork NSW Guidelines, and good industry practice in safe systems of work.Demonstrated technical knowledge in all relevant areas with proven experience relevant to the Senior Engineer duties in passenger rail.Demonstrated technical knowledge and understanding of design requirements to Australian or European standards for passenger rail infrastructure; including testing and acceptance experience.What's on Offer We are offering a permanent opportunity with flexible working options and access to a wide range of benefits and much more, including Employee recognition awards, Fitness Passport, and Maxxia car leasing and much more.We are delivering the future of train travel today – and it all starts with our people.
