The primary role of the Senior Engineer (Projects) is to provide technical support to clients including remedial maintenance support on infrastructure, LAN and WAN networks and implementation of new projects, while acting as an escalation point in areas of expertise.
Along with this, the duties and responsibilities for the role also include but may not be limited to:
Providing remote and onsite support for client environmentsTesting, diagnosing, repairing, configuring and upgrading hardware and associated IT equipment on client environmentsTroubleshooting, analysing, and identifying hardware and network system faults, evaluate alternative solutions, determine and implement the solution processWorking with clients to understand technical requirements across the businessRecommending and assisting with the selection of relevant technologies and products for projectsDeveloping high level and low-level design documentationMonitoring and reviewing daily logs and creating incident tasks where action is requiredLiaising with vendors if requiredEnsuring equipment configuration, error logs and code levels are within set specificationsActing as an escalation point and aiding more junior members of the teamActing as a technology specialist in areas of expertisePerforming analysis and testing and making recommendations in a capacity of a technical expertPreparation of projects and changes including assumptions, scope of works, functional specifications, implementation planning and deliverablesPerforming detailed requirements capture and analysis activity for infrastructure solutions utilising and integrating the existing product suitesAssisting in solution architecture/design where requiredProviding technical pre-sales support to the sales team including content for quotes, proposals and tender responsesDeveloping and maintaining technical procedure and system documentation for the supported architecturesProactively improving and automating technical proceduresMaintaining and developing broad, high level technical knowledge and skills across technologies deployed by New Era, through self-study and internal and external training coursesDocumenting daily activity, through mandated time sheeting system, in an accurate and timely mannerWho we are looking for While being on top of your game technically is obviously an essential attribute for this role, we are also looking for someone who has the following:
