From our facilities in Australia, Indonesia, America and Chile, Austin delivers a global and local presence in the world's principal mining regions delivering high-quality, cost-effective solutions, delivered on time and backed by a life of product support.Your Future Role As the Senior Engineer, you will report to the Engineering Manager-APAC to use your sound experience and knowledge driving design excellence and ensuring the successful execution of projects. To succeed in the role, you will have relevant engineering experience with a strong background in 3D modelling, experience using SolidWorks or Creo, and expertise in bucket and tray design capacity calculations. Key Responsibilities Oversee the design and development of engineering solutions, with a focus on bucket and tray designs for material handling applications.Utilize advanced 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks or Creo to create detailed designs, simulations, and prototypes, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and industry standards.Apply expertise in bucket and tray design capacity calculations, conducting thorough analyses to validate design integrity and optimize performance.Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, and manufacturing, to ensure seamless project execution and delivery, coordinating with offshore teams as necessary.Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering department, identifying opportunities for process optimization, efficiency gains, and cost reduction, leveraging insights from both onshore and offshore teams.Act as a technical resource and subject matter expert in design principles, material selection, and engineering best practices, providing guidance and support to team members, including offshore team members.Lead by example in fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the engineering team, promoting knowledge sharing and professional development across onshore and offshore teams.Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively, ensuring that deliverables are completed on schedule and within budget constraints, while effectively coordinating with offshore team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape, leveraging insights to inform strategic decision-making and business growth, and ensuring that onshore and offshore teams are aligned with company objectives.Lead cross-functional collaboration and drive a "One Austin" culture and mindset.Create and foster a customer service culture cross functionally so that all stakeholders and functions collaborate to be responsive, outcome focused and adding value across the group.Work closely with the Engineering Manager on sales initiatives, targets and plans.Work collaboratively with the Engineering Manager to understand markets and market drivers for key customers and industry sources. Qualifications, Knowledge & ExperienceBachelor's degree in engineering or related field is requiredMinimum 8+ years of experience in engineering rolesMember of Engineers Australia (CP Engineer preferred)Practical workshop experience is highly valued, demonstrating hands-on expertise and the ability to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world settings.Shop floor experience as a fitter or boilermaker turned-design-engineer is an added advantage, offering practical insight into manufacturing processes and enhancing technical problem-solving skills.Knowledge of contemporary trends and issues within the mining industry.Substantial Knowledge of Quality and Engineering standards applicable to Austin Engineering's operations.Superior computer modelling skills, utilizing contemporary engineering design packages & releasing using Windchill.Ability to inspire innovative engineering and product design to meet client needs and enhance ANG's market share and profitability.
