As a Senior Engineer, your role will be to project manage and provide technical support within the Engineering and Project services team. The team provides expert engineering, project management, and infrastructure advisory services to the Local Government Division, local governments, and other stakeholders. This includes supporting the delivery of large-scale infrastructure funding programs, responding to the critical infrastructure needs of local governments, and enhancing asset management capability across the sector.
Support the Engineering and Project Services team in planning, coordinating, and managing critical infrastructure programs and projects throughout Queensland in accordance with required program, cost, quality, and service standards.Provide engineering advice and project services support to Local Government Division, councils, and other stakeholders, including:Advise on infrastructure delivery solutions, including in relation to local government infrastructure proposals.Oversee the delivery of critical infrastructure projects (including water, wastewater, and solid waste projects).Administer infrastructure project grants to local governments.Provide local government infrastructure, engineering, and project management advice to senior leaders within the department.Manage the delivery of projects in accordance with timeframe, cost, quality, and service requirements and ensuring compliance with relevant standards, policies, guidelines, and legislation in relation to water and wastewater assets, programs, and projects.Build relationships across Local Government Division to deliver shared objectives of the Division and promote a "one LGD" environment.Support effective liaison and communication with local and indigenous community stakeholders by the Engineering Services unit on Engineering Services projects and programs.Prepare written material including briefing notes, outgoing correspondence, and reports, ensuring content is prepared to a high standard and in accordance with departmental expectations.Contribute to the engineering team to plan and coordinate work activities which includes fostering a positive attitude toward the achievement of project and Departmental objectives.Applications to remain current for 12 months.
